The first workshop organized in Algeria – “Challenges and tools for the sustainable development of the dried fig value chain” focused on the situation of fig production in Algeria.
This workshop took place on August 05, 2024 and focused on the proposal of innovative and sustainable solutions allowing the improvement of the conservation of figs while preserving their nutritional qualities and,
the valorisation of by-products through the presentation of the benefit of using solar dryers instead of the traditional drying method and the presentation of sustainable agricultural practices by sharing of knowledge and exchange of good practices in terms of climate resilience and preservation of biodiversity (pollinators) and control of the proliferation of certain parasites.
