The first edition of the Smallholder Farmer School Training in Egypt was held on May 1-2, 2024, in Alexandria.
The school was attended by 14 farmers plus the instructor. The two-day activity aimed to provide prickly pear farmers and farm owners with practical skills and knowledge to effectively implement sub-surface irrigation systems and organic fertilization using vermicompost, which offer significant economic and environmental benefits.
